Kim Victoria Cattrall born 21 August 1956, is the name of a British Canadian actress from Canada. Most well-known for her part of Samantha Jones in the HBO Sex and the City series in which she was nominated for five Emmy Award nominations and the four Golden Globe Award, winning the Golden Globe 2002 for the best supporting actor. The role was reprised in the movies Sex and the City (2008) as well as Sex and the City 2 (2010). In the 1980s she played lead roles on the television show Police Academy Big Trouble Little China Mannequin as well as Porky's. She was born in Skane, Sweden and did modeling before she began her acting career. Then she won the Miss Sweden contest. She moved to the US in the early 1990s, where she began to appear in films as minor characters. Her first credited role was in the film Abbott and Costello Go to Mars in which she played the role of a Venusian guard. The following year, after appearing as an unproven newcomer on the set of Blood Alley she was awarded the Golden Globe in the most likely category.
